had a contest with Kraft recently. You picked from the recipe list provided and illustrated the recipe. It was really fun. I thought it was a good chance to work on some of my digital illustration which I started doing more of. Here were my entries.

If dogs were capable of driving this is how I picture a cab driving dog. I actually got this idea from the New York dog show and of the dogs taking over New York. I did this a long time ago, but thought it fit the capable theme. It is oils on gessoed board.

I did this as a personal painting. I like the challenge of trying something that I find difficult. I paired working with light and a fluid (water).

Each has a dramatic affect on how an object looks. This is an oil on canvas.

In the spirit of moving forward at a good pace I selected this image for the topic Forward. This is oils on board. I don't know why, but I like giving characters red hair.

Scotts Valley Artisans

The Scotts Valley Artisans store is having their grand opening party on Feb 4. I have several of the pieces from the Two Can art line up in prints, cards and t-shirts and have also been doing some clay to put in the store. The clay has been really fun. I've been working with paper clay and clay polymer. I used to do a lot of hand building so the clay is a really comfortable medium. This is a bit of a departure from what I've been doing. Here are some pics of the display and also some of the clay things.

Here is a watercolor painting of a porcine ballerina mid twirl.I was just playing around with creating characters, and a dancing pig seemed like a good idea.

This is the last of the group of characters that were licensed for product. This guy is huge. Around 40". This is based on the characters from Amanda and Max.

Stripes and Polka Dots

Well the topic for Illustration Friday is Stripes. I just got samples of some of the product that I licensed and was planning on putting photos here. Since the are striped and polka dotted I thought I would do it for the topic as well. Here are the dogs and cats in stripes and polka dots. They are in stores for Christmas. I love getting samples.
